The Ohio Hip Hop Awards was held in Columbus Ohio for the first time in six years. The set up was very classy and it was just what the city needed so i thought. There were no Columbus Artist performing or opening up the show. The night was filled with everyone representing their city but the only real winners came from Cleveland. Now I am not taking away from Machine Gun Kelly who won almost 15 awards, but come on none of the artist that were nominated did not deserve to win also? Now there have been some talk that the awards is a slap in the face to Columbus artist, due to the fact that no one has starting to do the Columbus Hip Hop Awards or really recognize that we have a lot of talent here in the Capital City. I'm not saying that you should have picked Columbus artist to win, it just looked like the Awards panel just picked only Cleveland to really win. Well you can not cry over spilled milk we just have to get educated on how the voting process works. However when Columbus left the building the seats were empty. So next time when you go to another city please do not put HATERS IN CHARGE OF RUNNING YOUR SHOW OR YOUR MEDIA BECAUSE THE SHIT WILL NOT GET DONE PROPERLY.

White teens kill black man

The FBI has opened a civil rights investigation into the death of a black man who Mississippi authorities say was intentionally run down by a white teenager in a pickup truck.

Deborah Madden, an FBI spokeswoman in Mississippi, said Wednesday that the bureau is investigating the June 26 death of James Craig Anderson. Madden said the agency wants to “determine whether federal civil rights crimes occurred.”

Anderson’s death flamed anger across the country when a surveillance video was made public of him being run over near a hotel in Jackson. Mississippi was the scene of some of the most shocking violence of the civil rights era.

Deryl Dedmon, who authorities say was driving the green 1998 Ford F-250, is charged with murder. John Aaron Rice is charged with simple assault for allegedly assaulting Anderson before he was killed.

Mississippi authorities say Dedmon and Rice, both 18 at the time, and a group of other teenagers were out looking for a black person to assault when they found Rice just before dawn near a Jackson hotel.

Their attorneys deny they were involved in a racially motivated attack.

Rice had also been charged with murder, but a judge reduced the charge after police testified that he had left the scene in another vehicle before Anderson was run over. Prosecutors said they will still urge a state grand jury to indict both teens for murder.

Hinds County District Attorney Robert Schuler Smith did not respond to messages Wednesday seeking comment. Jackson Police Detective Eric Smith, who investigated the case, refused comment Wednesday.

The hotel’s security camera captured video of Anderson being run over. The surveillance video, obtained by The Associated Press and other media, shows a white Jeep in which Rice was allegedly a passenger leaving a hotel parking lot at 5:05 a.m.

Less than 20 seconds later, a Ford truck backs up and then lunges forward. Anderson’s shirt is illuminated in the headlights before he disappears under the vehicle next to the curb. The hotel provided Jackson police with the video, which prosecutors say has been vital in the investigation.

Rice’s attorney, Samuel Martin, suggested during a hearing last month that the teens were on a beer run after a night of partying, not looking for a black man to assault, as prosecutors allege.

Martin suggested during a line of questioning with a police detective that Rice had no knowledge of any plan to indiscriminately attack a black man.

Smith testified during a bond hearing in July that Dedmon had been robbed by a black man in the weeks before Anderson’s death and was looking for “some sort of revenge” when he asked people at a party in Rankin County to go to Jackson in search of someone “to mess with.”

Seven people headed to Jackson in two cars, with Dedmon and Rice in separate vehicles.

The district attorney has said racial slurs were used during the attack and that Dedmon later bragged that he “just ran that n—– over.”

The killing has evoked memories of the state’s racially violent past, including the beating, jailing and killing of civil rights activists in the 1960s.

Dedmon was pulled over on Interstate 20 in Rankin County later that morning. Rice was arrested a few days later. Authorities have not ruled out that others at the scene could be charged.

Tina Marie was famous for her R & B hits that she produced over the year's with the Great Rick James and many more. Tina Marie was mistaken for being a black female with her smooth and raspy voice. Tina Marie was the first lady signed to Cash Money records back in 2002. Tina Marie will be missed and her music is world wide.

Lil' Wayne was certainly on a rollercoaster ride himself this week. He experienced yet another major professional high at the BET Awards, where he was the top nominee and the top winner (he took home four trophies, including ones for MVP, People's Champ, and Lyricist Of The Year). And in his personal life, the "Stuntin' Like My Daddy" rapper happily became a daddy again (a still-anonymous babymama gave birth to his second child--and his first son--christened Dwayne Carter III). We send our congratulations to this People's Champ.

But it wasn't all babies and BETs in Wayne's world, as the People's Champ unfortunately found himself in the People's Court this week. His Manhattan trial on gun charges (stemming from a July incident when NYC police searched his suspiciously cannabis-scented tour bus outside New York's Beacon Theatre) continued--and Wayne's assistant Terry Bourgeois testified that he "occasionally" saw a .40-caliber pistol on the bus and witnessed various members of Wayne's posse passing the dutchie. However, another eyewitness, security guard Derrick Parker, testified that he didn't smell or see any pot-puffing on or around Wayne's bus. Wayne has pleaded "not guilty" to criminal possession of a weapon (if convicted, he could face up to three and a half years in prison) and his attorney, Stacey Richman, is seeking to have the charges dropped on the grounds that cops falsified the marijuana claim in order to conduct a search of the bus. So for now, Lil' Wayne remains free on $70,000 bond.

Lil Wayne just had his own Lil Wayne his first son, Dwayne Carter III. Next week, he'll rap with the elder Mr. Carter: Wayne and Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter will be the main attractions at Power 105.1's Powerhouse concert in New York. Weezy says fans can expect the two to perform "Mr. Carter" for the first time during the show.

"I know the 'Mr. Carter' thing is supposed to be a go," Weezy said Saturday, the day of the BET Awards "That's the whole reason I think I was doing [the concert]."

With Wayne and Jay already in the building, will Kanye West and T.I. pop in to finally perform a complete version of "Swagger Like Us"?

"I can't answer the 'Swagger Like Us' thing," Weezy insisted.

Besides reveling in the birth of his son, Wayne is preparing for his long-awaited tour. He's been practicing with a live band and working out logistics with the other acts he wants to bring on the road. He told us M.I.A.was onboard, until her pregnacy caused the British star to have to sit it out.

"It will be a big tour, live band," he said of the outing. "I'll be playing with them. We're still trying to find people to get on the tour, but it shouldn't be a problem."

Wayne further explained his goal of including artists from other genres. "Something to make the tour well-rounded," he said. "Something that makes you feel like you're listening to the radio. I don't want you to be thinking you're going to a Wayne show, so you dress a certain way because it's a hip-hop show. No, 'Wayne and who else is there?' I want it to be more an event than a concert."

Perhaps the tour will include Juvenile and B.G. since Wayne is collaborating with the guys in the studio.

"The Hot Boys reunion is supposed to be a go," he said. "I think there's a few more buttons that have to be pushed, but it's a go."
